What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Our Purpose

Our mission is to glorify God and extend His kingdom by living and proclaiming His truth in the world.  We strive to help people grow spiritually in a healthy church environment.

Our Beliefs

Bible

We are a Bible teaching church. The Bible is true, forever relevant, and teaches us everything we need to know for how live for God's glory. Being taught the Word of God on a regular basis is essential to growing in your Christian walk.

God

The Bible reveals that there is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise.  God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom,  justice, and mercy.

Mankind

Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God's creation.

The Fall

When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they ceased to be what they were made to be and became distorted images of God. This caused them to fall out of relationship with God, and fractured all of creation ever since that time. God promised them that one would be born who would pay for their sin and defeat its curse. They trusted in that promise and thereby became the first believers in Jesus Christ.

Salvation

God so loves us that He personally became a member of the human race in fulfillment of God's promise to Adam and Eve. Jesus Christ was born to live as our substitute. He lived the righteous life we should live but can't. He willingly died for the sinful lives we do live. God raised him from the grave having satisfied God's judgment against our sin. When we trust in Jesus as our God and Savior he forgives us of our sin and gives us credit for His righteous life which restores our relationship with God. That is why salvation can be found in Jesus Christ alone.

Baptism

Jesus taught his disciples to baptize a person when they trust in Jesus and want to follow Him as their God and Savior. Baptism is a vivid demonstration that a person is wholly committed to Christianity. Going under the baptismal water symbolizes that one's old life of sin has died with Christ, and coming up from the water signifies that the believer is now living a new life based on God's grace and power.

The Church

Adam and Eve were the first believers on the earth and were the beginning of God's redeemed people, the Church.  The Church has taken many different shapes throughout the centuries and is currently organized as local congregations of missional people empowered by the Holy Spirit.  Jesus ascended into heaven and is fulfilling His mission on the earth through the Church, which is meant to be the visible body of Christ on earth, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Resurrection

Jesus Christ is returning one day to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God's kingdom on earth. Like Jesus resurrected, when He returns all believers will be resurrected to enjoy a renewed, sin-free creation for all eternity.
